OCR integration & video gate
A video gate reads licence plates, UIC wagon numbers and container numbers automatically and reports them to smartTOS. The system records every OCR event, assigns it to the truck visit or the train and answers with a control decision. Nothing is typed in twice.
OCR integration & video gate in detail
- Data from the video gate system is taken over and assigned automatically to the ingate or outgate data
- For each movement the OCR system reports the licence plate or UIC wagon number, lane, direction and timestamp, plus the loading units detected with number, type, length, tare weight and dangerous-goods flag (RID/ADR)
- smartTOS answers each movement with a control decision, “allow” or “deny”; physical control of the barrier stays with the video gate system
- All OCR events belonging to a truck visit are logged and can be reviewed on a dedicated page
- Secured via OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect, with the retry mechanism on the video gate side
- For rail as well: train data from the video gate feeds into arrival and departure. How far this runs automatically depends on the quality and scope of the data supplied
